| Hare paenga.
This hare paenga is 9.20m long by 2.50m wide. Several of the
foundation stones are missing or buried, including those on both the north
and south ends. The visible
stones are overgrown with grass. The center of the hare
paenga is 8.50m east of the base of the fallen moai (F 39). Nearly all
the visible stones have fallen over so that only the flat-sided surfaces
can be viewed. Two of these are sitting at angles so that cupped
depressions are visible. Another feature (hare paenga?), 5.30m long by 0.75m wide, is located 4m north and
20cm east of the front of the hare
paenga. There are three stones visible, two partially buried, and one
almost completely buried. Two of the foundation stones are tilted at an
angle, while one stone is not tilted. No cupped depressions are visible in
the stones. |
