| Hare
Paenga, poro cluster. This
feature is a disturbed hare paenga
approximately 49m in distance on a bearing of 50 degrees northeast from
the base of the fallen moai (F 39). It measures about 40m by 10m. The
feature contains less than 10 paenga,
most of which are fairly straightly aligned. Poro
stones are found primarily on the uphill (southeast) side of the hare
paenga. We also noted the presence of eight aligned, non-paenga,
non-poro stones, placed
transversely and greatly buried along the southeast side of feature (moai road curbing?). Very few (< 10 pieces) obsidian flakes
found. This feature is about 9m, 160 degrees southeast of an intact hare
paenga near a cave (F 25). The
map is orientated to 40 degrees (N). |
