| Manavai, collapsed and trampled.
The overall dimensions of the feature measure 9m (N/S) by 8m (E/W). Thirty
large rocks over 50cm in size distinguish this feature from natural rock
scatters of the area. The pattern suggests one large manavai or as many as 3 smaller manavai
were once present here. One paenga
is 3m southwest from the feature’s center point. A poro stone is
also located near the paenga
50cm to the west. At a bearing of
270 degrees and 1.60m distance is an umu,
F19. Also, at a bearing of 140 degrees and 11m away is a hare paenga. Various size classes of stone comprise the manavai
(estimate: 0-25cm=300; 26-50cm=100; 50cm< =30). |
