| Disturbed hare paenga and associated pavement. This feature is18m long by 11m
wide. The paenga are arranged in
an elliptical shape, with most lying on their sides. The hare paenga has a maximum internal width of 1m and is comprised of
25 stones. A semicircular rock cluster (labeled "A" on the map)
is adjacent to the hare paenga
on the inland (east) side. The entryway of the hare
paenga is unidentifiable and the pavement area (seaward side) appears
to have been disturbed and scattered. This feature is situated on a slope
with an inclination of 2 degrees. Upslope
of the hare paenga the ground
has an inclination of 3 degrees. A paenga
stone lying on its side (labeled "B" on the map) bears a lateral
hole connecting to a hole on a top. A similar lateral hole is on the
bottom side. The are numerous obsidian flakes present around the feature. |
