Lyon Arboretum Archaeological Inventory Survey
The students of UH Manoa Anthropology Department and the Society for Hawaiian Archaeology Student Committee (SHASC) are conducting an archaeological inventory survey at Lyon Arboretum in Mānoa Valley. The main goal of this project is to provide the Lyon Arboretum and our local community with a reliable report which will ensure the protection and longevity of the archaeological sites present, while at the same time educating our students and community in non-destructive archaeological survey methods.
This is a community-centered project, and so we welcome volunteers from all ages and backgrounds. The project is for all skill levels and is geared toward the community and any individuals hoping to experiance Hawaiian archaeology first hand in a friendly, casual situation that is located close to town.
