Graduate Library & Reading Room

The Anthropology Graduate Reading Library (AGRL) is housed in the Anthropology department at the University of Hawaii-Manoa. It contains departmental dissertations, journals, reference materials, a small but diverse collection of germinal anthropological texts, and a special section dedicated to rare works of Pacific scholarship. The AGRL is run on a cooperative basis and staffed wholly by student volunteers. Access to the AGRL and its collections is open to anthropology graduate students who have completed the obligatory year of voluntary service, as well as anthropology department faculty. In addition to a prime collection of research materials, the AGRL provides its student volunteers with a quiet and secure place to study accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during the academic school year.
